Following the release of their brand new single 'Bowing Down', we caught up with Beautiful Things' front woman Dina D'Alessandro to find out more about the music she loves and why! Check out her picks below as well as the brand new music video for 'Bowing Down'!
1.) Kate Bush - The Morning Fog
This song just really goes right to your soul and never leaves. It feels like life and love and pain and beauty. And the fretless bass is perfection.
2.) Levy - Rotten Love
You can tell that this songwriter wrote and performed this from a sincere place. He really captured some depth of his setting and time period (NYC in the aughts), instead of just trying to be "cool" or whatever. You can't help but feel his sadness in your heart as you listen. A real gem.
3.) He Said - Pump
He Said is a project by the bass player of Wire, Graham Lewis. This song is mesmerizing. I think he's technically rapping? Not sure how to describe the vocals exactly, but they are very poetic, and the music is so atmospheric and hypnotic.
4.) Ben Bohmer - A Matter of Time
This is a perfect ambient song to, like, be active to, but also totally enjoy while you're doing the active things you're doing. It just has so much vibe! And it never gets old or boring.
5.) Stelvio Cipriani - Mary's Theme
This song makes me wish I lived in Europe in the early 1970's. It's just so magical. I wish it went on forever. So much unique and quirky music was composed for Italian movies back in the 60s/70s that has strongly and surprisingly stood the test of time. This song is a perfect example of this.
