1. Tyler, The Creator - Smuckers
This song is one of the best songs ever made in Hip Hop, in my opinion. The production is fucking perfect. The verses are so well crafted it keeps your attention the entire time. The way lil Wayne comes into his verse is legendary. Not to the mention one of the best cover arts I’ve ever seen. I love it this song never fails to make me smile.
2. Flume - Say It feat. Tove Lo
I remember when I first found Flume I thought to myself, how does this work. I wanted to understand his production so bad the weird off beat drums with the bizarre percussions made me fall in love with his music. His productions are masterpieces and his continued source of inspiration.
3. Kendrick Lamar - Alright
Kendricks albums have always had a special place in my heart, but this song is one of the best songs he has ever made. His music has been a huge inspiration of mine. I’ve probably listened to Good Kid, m.A.A.d. city and To Pimp a Butterfly top to bottom at least 50 times.
4. J. Cole - Love Yourz
This song has brought me to tears plenty of times, Cole’s lyricism is beautiful and poetic. He rides the beat perfectly while also speaking words that speak to my soul, reminding me to be grateful for what I have already in life.
5. Kanye West - I Wonder
This song to me is one of the best songs Kanye ever made, the production is amazing from the synths, to the samples, to the drum selection. The words have always spoke to me when I’m driving alone contemplating my life.
