Southwest UK indie risers Haytor have just released the emotive and vibrant new single 'All We'll Ever Be'. A track which is both personal and emotive but also packs a sense of energy and joyous expression through it's rich instrumentation, the track is a brilliant example of the bands sound. Naturally, we wanted to know more about what music the band listens to and what inspires their sound.
We asked the band to pick 5 of their all time faves. Over to Haytor:
Sam Fender - All Is On My Side
Sam Fender is without doubt one of our biggest songwriting influences and whilst we don't all agree on much, we all agree this is our favourite song of his. From that first vibey riff to the belting chorus, it's an absolute banger and a top-tier driving song - a must have on every road trip.
Wolf Alice - How Can I Make It Ok?
When Blue Weekend was released it immediately became a favourite of ours. The whole album is a no-skip from start to finish, but for us I think this is the standout track. The live session is equally brilliant as the studio track and seeing Wolf Alice live they never ever disappoint.
The War on Drugs - I Don't Live Here Anymore
I don't think any other single song has influenced us more as a band than this song, we've ripped it off so many times in so many ways and we never tire of it. It is simply the vibe.
Foo Fighters - Everlong
If you've never lost your voice screaming out the chorus to this song with your mates then you haven't fully experienced it, a timeless banger that has been a staple in band practices ever since we figured out how to tune our guitars to drop D.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Learning to Fly
Another quintessential road trip song for us, always lifts our spirits ahead of a gig and nicked straight out of Dad’s record collection.
