We were delighted to sit down with the very talented Lex Bucha around the release of new single 'Now You Know', to find out more about his unique and catchy sound. Be sure to check out the new extended version of the song at the bottom, and follow his story on socials!

Lykke Li - ´So Sad So Sexy´

I’ve always had a deep love for Lykke Li’s music, but So Sad So Sexy holds a special place in my heart. There’s something about the way she blends melancholy with seduction, wrapping raw emotion in shimmering synths and hypnotic electronic production. The vocoders and layered textures create this intoxicating atmosphere, a sonic haze that feels both intimate and otherworldly. Her vocals drift over the beats like honey—sweet, smooth, and irresistible. It’s the kind of song that lingers long after it ends, and that balance of vulnerability and allure is a huge inspiration for me in my own music.

Honne - ´Crying Over You´

There’s something so special about Crying Over You by HONNE—it’s that perfect mix of sadness and hope that just hits differently every time I hear it. The production is warm and dreamy, wrapping heartbreak in soft synths and soulful grooves, making it impossible not to feel everything all at once. And then there’s BEKA—her vocals are pure magic. She could sing absolutely anything, and I’d be captivated. This song has had such a big impact on my own music; I often find myself thinking, What would HONNE do? when I’m writing. Their ability to craft emotion into sound is something I admire endlessly.

Joji - ´Sanctuary´

Joji’s music is basically a permanent fixture in my house—I’m such a huge fan of his singing style. There’s this effortless, airy quality to his voice that I wish I could replicate, and I often find myself wondering how he achieves that magic in the mix. Sanctuary is probably his standout hit, but for good reason—it’s lush, emotional, and cinematic in a way that just pulls you in completely. Beyond the song itself, I love the visual world it creates; it’s the kind of track that feels like a dream you don’t want to wake up from. Joji has this incredible way of making music feel both deeply personal and otherworldly, and that’s something I really admire.

Hurts - ´Evelyn´

Evelyn from HURTS' Happiness album is one of those songs that just takes over your whole body—it’s explosive, dramatic, and completely overwhelming in the best way. The production is on another level, building and building until it feels like the entire world is shaking. And when the choir vocals come in? Goosebumps. Every. Single. Time. HURTS have always been a huge influence on me, both sonically and visually—I love their bold, cinematic style, the way they craft emotion into something so grand yet intimate. Their music has this incredible ability to feel both nostalgic and futuristic at the same time, and Evelyn is the perfect example of that magic.

Gavin James - ´Always´

Always by Gavin James is just one of those timeless songs—everybody in Ireland knows it, probably from all the adverts it’s been on, but that doesn’t make it any less special. No matter how many times I hear it, I can’t help but sing it at the top of my lungs. It’s raw, heartfelt, and completely soaring in a way that just stays with you. Gavin is such an inspiration to Irish musicians, myself included—his ability to craft such honest, emotional music is something I truly admire. I had to include this song because it’s more than just a hit; it’s a moment, a feeling, a song that never fades.
