In this playlist, I only wanted to showcase my fav' CONGOPIANO songs I listen to the most right now ( ps: AFROCONGO is a genre I wanna showcase or be one of the pioneers of in the feminine DJing side as a Congolese woman - cause often played my male DJ's -).
1 - Bruce Blanchard - Motema Pasi
"I discovered this song through a friend's IG stories ( @_mmayimona ) and instantly added it to my playlist. One day, I carefully listened to it with lyrics and noticed later, this song explicitly talks about the Congo genocide. Approaching this topic while making people dance is a very hard move ! All my respects and flowers to him."
2 - ID Pizzle - Sifflet
"Mixing rap & Lingala in any different beat is literally insane, but Pizzle did it so effortlessly with this song. It combines trendy, and tribal rythms. I love how he gives proper shoutouts to our culture and keep his identity as a Congolese musician. He's one of my fav artists!"
3 - KissBeatz - Shisha ( ft. DJ Hans, Samarino )
"This hit easily enters my top 5 ! I really admire DJ Hans' & KissBeatz work as DJ's & producers. The way those instrumentals are played is crazy. Only few words were needed to make this song a banger. I actually want to open one of my upcoming shows with lol, It's going to be FIRE."
4 - Pvpi Strz - Jaja Vibez
"We often forget about chill songs cause my country is used to dancing sounds, innit ? But going for something soft & Naïja influenced was the best to do for this one. " Jaja" literally is the perfect mashup of Afrobeats & Amapiano with hints of Lingala words. Papi Strz gave us MELODY !"
5 - ZeenoMusik - Wena
"So much similar to the last one, it puts me in a certain vibe. I would surely listen to it at the beach, orange cocktail in mouth, or chilling in a car-ride with my " boo" ? haha. You know " WATER" by Tyla right ? That's the mood I'm talking about. I believe this genre also can bring us further If we keep exploring it.."
