1. Postal Service - Such great heights
This song has such a magic to it. I first discovered it through the cover Iron and Wine did and ever since have obsessed over both that and this original version. The lyrics are beautiful, the melodies and perfect and the production is unparalleled cool. 2. Daft Punk - Around the World
Basically the funkiest piece of music ever made with the best music video ever made. 3. Jimi Hendrix at Monterey pop festival - Hey Joe
I used to have a video of this when I was a kid and I literally studied every guitar note he plays on it. This is Jimi Hendrix at his best. He was on a meteoric rise at this point and his whole set at Monterey is amazing, particularly this one.
4. Bach Cello Suite in G major by Mischa Maisky
I leant to play cello in school and used to play the Bach cello suites. Now my son is learning and he’s bashing through them too. For me this is a joy to watch. This guy’s technique and precision is unreal. A master at work. 5. Tuxedo Moon - In a manner of Speaking
A beautiful and inspired song. Uber cool with real depth.
