1. This Is The Day by Mamas Gun
This track came up on a playlist just before Christmas and I spent the last part of the year playing this a few times daily! This was the track to see me into 2023! 2. Fairytale by Mac Wetha (featuring. Rachel Chinouriri
When you just got to jump up and smile between brush my teeth and putting the mascara in. This track just brightens me up when I'm getting ready in the morning, I love that guitar rift and the sultry chill of the vocal delivery.
3. Distance by Yebba
As soon as I just wrote those words re sultry vocal delivery, my mind went straight to this song and how much the voice of warms my soul. What a stunning vocal on this track. I listen and float away on a mind cloud and get seriously chilled but excited for the journey in the music. I love the ending from the brass and I totally feel the love sent out in this song! Captures your memories from the start with the finger plucked strings on the guitar.
4. No One Knows by Queens of the Stone Age (live at Brixton Academy)
I can't tell you how many times I've rewound the M8! The arrangement and build up to that epic drum playing is amazing! I Just love the whole arrangement of this song, the breaks the vocal dynamics and the musicianship, how tight they are as a band and the energy just blows me away every time! As does the playing of those drums which brings pure excitement into my heart. I'm seriously on a high dancing to this track!
5. What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
I just love the silk of his voice and the play of the rhythm changes in his vocal and this versions differentiation from the live performance verses the recorded version of the song. I love the feeling in his words, that captivate and draw me in and I can listen endlessly to his vocal.
I love watching the old video footage that fits his vocal message and fantastic lyrics.
