5 Songs I Love w/ The Lamps

Indie-rock risers The Lamps have just dropped their stellar new album 'The Sea The Fog The Rust'! To celebrate its release we caught up with the band to find out more about the songs they love and why. Check out their individual picks below and if you're a fan then be sure to listen to the new album which you can stream below.

1. Marvin Pontiac “Runnin' Round”

I’ve had this song on repeat lately. The subtle guitar groove paired with the low-end piano is incredible! I love songs that don’t really hit you right away; I don’t think it was until halfway through the song that I realized how much I liked it. -Harrison 2. Royal Blood "Lights Out"

This song always gets me fired up. The amount of sound this band can create with only two instruments is epic. The breakdown after the drummer’s repeated snare flam hits will get anybody moving. -Joe 3. Tom Waits "2:19"

He’s the GOAT. It’s not even close. Every song, every album I learn something. -Scotty 4. Calvin Harris "Obsessed"

I’ve had Obsessed off of Calvin Harris’s Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 on repeat lately. It’s a light and super catchy summertime tune. I love the syncopated rhythm of the vocal hook and instrumental, and that’s what makes this song such an ear-worm for me. -Christian 5. Brian Jonestown Massacre "Hide and Seek"

One of my favorite songs of all time, and one of my favorite bands of all time. I remember first hearing this song back in college and falling in love with it immediately. The guitar line is nothing short of intoxicating and the droning, ethereal, uplifting chords beneath the sad lyrics makes this a tune that I come back to time and time again.

-Harrison
