5 Songs I Love w/ YARLIE

It's an exciting time for YARLINGS - the fanbase of Swedish alt-pop artist YARLIE, as she releases her debut EP 'Stupid With A Sore Heart'. Her signature style is presented across 6 uniquely stunning tracks. Following the release, we wanted to find out a bit more about the music that inspires YARLIE's sound. If you're a fan of the track below, be sure to check out YARLIE's EP at the end of the feature!

1. FRANCIS AND THE LIGHTS - SEE HER OUT

this is one of my fav songs of all times thanks to its massive synthesizer riff. i also love how the synth's volume is way louder than what u'd expect, it gives it such good dynamic.

2. BESSIE SMITH - NOBODY KNOWS YOU WHEN YOU'RE DOWN AND OUT

one of my biggest inspirations, the empress of blues. the lyrics of this song is so up front, concrete and yet so deep. this one has been with me since way back and always will be.

3. UFFIE - DRUGS

i remember the first time i heard this song, it was at at party and i walked in in the middle of the song. my first thought was that it was just a cute dream pop song, and then i heard the lyrics and i just started crying right there and then. i think this is the perfect combination of cute production and dark lyrics.

4. ROBIN S - SHOW ME LOVE

idk what else there is to say other than that this is the perfect 90's song. it's just perfect.

5. ALLMÄNNA SÅNGEN VISBY - ELDEN

this is my favorite swedish songs of all times. for all of y'all non swedish speakers, this song is about a burning fire. that's literally all the lyrics

"the fire's burning, fire, fire's burning, fire, that's the translation."

what i love about this song is the never ending build up, it get's me as excited each and every time. i'll never get tired of this song.
