Alternative rock trio Zach Bellas has returned with their latest single, the triumphant “One More Show,” out now. The track, a guitar-driven take on the all-too-relatable tribulations of aging, features punchy drums, strong vocals, and a refrain that is palpable as the group begs for the chance to provide their audience with one more song, “before the night is done.” A string quartet, recorded live, pulls together the second half of the song in true cinematic fashion.
We sat down with Zach Bellas to discuss the tracks that influence them the most!
‘Runaway’ - Del Shannon
"So much happens in this song in a very short 2:21 and there is not a wasted note anywhere in there. The verses, bridges, choruses, instrumental interludes are all phenomenal on their own, but when put together they become absolutely magical and the listener is taken on a journey in a very short amount of time."
‘The Deadly Rhythm’ - Refused
"The whole The Shape Of Punk To Come album is incredible. It’s one of the most influential albums of all time. This song in particular changed our entire view about how a song could be written."
‘Waiting in Vain’ - Bob Marley & The Wailers
"Pure emotion oozes from this song from start to finish. It’s another song where there is not a wasted moment and you can feel deeply what Bob is trying to convey here. We are lucky to be able to call Junior Marvin, who plays the guitar solo on this song, a close friend and he worked on one of our earlier releases called ‘Making Me Good’. Such a phenomenal talent."
‘Stuck With Me’ - Green Day
"We take a lot of influence from Green Day, but this song in particular stands out. It has such a great structure, great harmonies, and every instrument is pulling their weight but it all works together."
‘Lay Low’ - My Morning Jacket
"We could also put ‘One Big Holiday’ here. Both songs have such epic build ups that lead to an even more epic end solo. If you listen to a lot of our songs, you can hear us trying to emulate that similar feeling that culminates in a monster multiple guitar solo to finish the song."
"One More Show" is available across streaming platforms.
