He is known for his revolutionizing of the DIY spaces in Pittsburgh and North Carolina.
We sat down with Jackson to discuss what he's been listening to, and how they inspire his music!
1."Angel" - Massive Attack
"Otherworldly. I first heard it in the movie Snatch. It legitimately makes me feel like I am walking through another dimension. And the vocals are just perfection."
2. Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) - Eurythmics
"This has been one of my favorite songs since I was 11. I’ve always been attracted to the darkness of the chords, but also the ultimately empowering message of the song. The lyrics are truly timeless and universal to the human experience."
3. "Supersonic" - Oasis
"This song is just effortless. It’s about embracing yourself. It’s the sound of making a decision to follow your dreams no matter what. And stop wasting any more time thinking twice about it."
4. "Steal My Sunshine" - LEN
"Summers in the late 1990’s. When I was so young I wasn’t even thinking about whether I was having fun, I was just doing it. The optimism and joy of being a kid on Planet Earth."
5. "Double Up" - Nipsey Hussle
"Rest In Peace. I've been listening to this song a lot recently. It gives me that slightly nostalgic and melancholy feeling you get in the late summer, but on the more happy end of the melancholy spectrum if you know what I mean. The feeling that you’re doing okay in this moment right now and that’s all you really need."
