5 Songs I Love w/ LAMIA

Alice Smith

Following the release of her latest single 'Cobra', Flex caught up with underground electronic producer LAMIA to find out more about what influences her raw sound. If you enjoy LAMIA's picks be sure to check out 'Cobra' at the end of the article.

1. Death Grips - Bubbles Buried in this Jungle

Death Grips use Noise very deliberately in their work, and this inspires my production.

2. Nadia Tehran - Cash Flow

Music to me is partly about having an ‘artists eye’ , a clarity that cuts through the zeitgeist and gets to the core how people think and feel.

3. KAYTRANADA, Eight9FLY - Vex Oh (Audio) ft. GoldLink

I listened to KAYTRANADA a lot around the time I wrote Cobra. It makes me feel like I am somewhere else - this is quite appealing in a UK winter.

4. GFOTY - BOY NEXT DOOR

I haven’t studied music so thoroughly to play things safe…GFOTY is inspirational because she plays with satire and new forms of expression that seem simple but are deeply conceptual.

5. MIA - Bad Girls

MIA inspires me to push boundaries and embrace individuality as an artist and producer.
