Anaïs Cardot shares new tracks for ‘Pink Magnolia Deluxe’

Anaïs Cardot has unveiled two brand new singles for the deluxe edition of her acclaimed debut EP 'Pink Magnolia'. 'Soldier' and 'Histoire Imaginaire' join the gracious standouts of 'Colors', 'Purple Room' and 'Can't Explain', each one leaving a lasting impression when the project originally burst into the world this time last year. The Ottawa-based talent once again showcases a vast ability as both a multi-genre and multi-lingual musician.

The first of the two additions is 'Soldier', one of Anaïs' more upbeat and intricately produced works, the plucky acoustic guitar and rippling sound effects energising a forward bouncing vocal performance whilst the percussion is perhaps a nod to her Gabonese heritage. Anaïs at her most sultry and enticing, the overall groove and warm glow come in stark contrast to the second new piece 'Histoire Imaginaire'.

The dreamlike, almost classical feel of the rolling piano notation and emotion-driven string arrangement provides a picturesque backdrop to a vocal performance as close to angelic as a human could muster. The French lyricism tumbles from the artist, holding a hand out to the bewildered listener as we enter into a beautiful unknown, a heaven on earth.

Anaïs explains ‘Soldier’, “‘Soldier’ is an exploration of control and the desperation to avoid rejection, all framed within the context of a faltering relationship. The song delves into the intense struggle to maintain a connection that fate seems determined to sever. It's a powerful narrative about clinging too tightly to a love that's slipping away, despite the universe signaling that it's time to let go.”

Anaïs Cardot embodies the essence of a worldly artist, navigating diverse cultures and languages fluently in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Born with Arthrogryposis, Anaïs has defied medical expectations, a life steeped in art allowing her to explore themes of self-love and mental love to a level far beyond her years, influenced both by her late father Buddha Cardot and authors like Victoria Hislop and Eckart Tolle.

During her time at Ottawa University, Anaïs made her debut on the music scene, quickly resonating on a global scale, selling out local venues in Ottawa and as far out as Johannesburg. Releasing the original ‘Pink Magnolia’ last summer, Anaïs saw her first truly widespread attention, and acclaim from major cities and iconic contemporaries alike solidifying her as one to watch.
