In a journey marked by self-discovery and resilience, Andrea Nord’s new single, “Monsters”, illuminates her evolving artistic identity. Known for her emotive vocals and poignant songwriting, this Norwegian artist seamlessly blends compelling storytelling with deeply personal experiences to create a sound that is uniquely her own.
“Monsters” delves into the singer's younger self's battles with fitting in and combating negative self-perception. “I wrote this song to her. She wanted to fit in so bad, but she was too much. Monsters is about the negative thoughts we hold on to. We create our realities through the stories we tell ourselves, and by separating them by naming them something else (like monsters), they don’t get to become a part of you. You hold the power of what your life should look like,” she explains.
Following the release of “Little Thing” earlier this year, “Monsters” offers a second glimpse into her highly anticipated debut EP, Closer To My Monsters Than My Friends. Crafted in collaboration with Portuguese producer Bruno Mota, known for his work with Pusha-T, the EP explores themes of self-discovery, resilience, and mental health. Meticulously shaped over three years, the EP will be unveiled as singles throughout 2024, with “Monsters” leading the charge.
Drawing inspiration from artists like FLETCHER, Julia Michaels, and Troye Sivan, Nord’s music resonates with authenticity and vulnerability. “Monsters” not only sets the stage for her debut EP but also promises to offer solace and inspiration, deeply connecting with listeners navigating their own struggles.
