'Why Can’t You' showcases Bryant’s unmatched ability to channel raw emotion through evocative lyrics and haunting melodies. The ballad, built on his signature guitar strums, delves into the anguish of heartbreak and the pain of unrequited love. As Bryant pleads for a partner to stay in love, the song captures the universal feeling of longing with striking vulnerability.
Reflecting on the track’s creation, Bryant shared, “I was searching for beats and couldn’t find anything that resonated, so I decided to start from scratch. That night, I had a dream where I met an artist and didn’t have any music to share with them—it was a wake-up call. I started creating the song, and it became something I really loved. A year later, with help from Andrew Luce, we brought it to life. The song is about one of the girls I used to talk to, back in the day.”
