This year has proved to be a prolific year for Bungalow Collect with the release of their third studio album ‘Disco Rap Saved Me’. Teasing the latest body of tracks throughout the year, the long-awaited long-player proves just as groundbreaking as the outfit's previous releases, leaning into their pioneering new brand of disco-rap.
Hitting a consistent high point, the album blesses the airwaves with a defiant, buzzing energy. The seven-track album pairs irresistible grooves with an effortlessly cool delivery, showcasing the group's marvelling knack for crafting hip-hop anthems that have that golden, sticky quality. Pushing the boundaries of contemporary hip-hop, ‘Disco Rap Saved Me’ solidifies the group as an exciting young collective.
Diving into the writing process behind the album, the group comment, “We wrote this album over two years while travelling the world and performing in various cities. Our intention was to bring back the disco while introducing unique flows and ad-lib tracks that reflect a modern flare. You Know I Know was created from scratch during a six-hour session in Hamburg, Germany, while Back it Up was recorded in Paris, France a few days earlier. We created Normalized in New York, while the other 4 songs were started in our LA living room.”
