Manchester-based singer-songwriter Chris Selman, now performing under the moniker Celestial Skies, returns with his latest single 'Desperation Nation', a sharp, satirical swipe at the UK’s booze culture and the often hollow nights it produces.

Known for his previous work as Words & Noises and under his own name, Selman has earned praise from outlets like NME and The Guardian, and garnered support from BBC 6Music and multiple regional BBC stations across the country. Now back in Manchester following a creative stint in London, he’s preparing to unveil his new full-length album 'The Art of Breaking Hearts'.

'Desperation Nation' sets the tone with its wry storytelling and understated indie-pop charm, offering a soundtrack for anyone who’s ever questioned the meaning behind a night out that promised more than it delivered. It’s a catchy yet thought-provoking anthem, blending social commentary with Selman’s signature melodic hooks.
