Contemporary Club unveil elegant grit of single ‘Plastic Dream’

Contemporary Club are swaying their way back into an impressive second single, unveiling the new track 'Plastic Dream'. The track opens with a hazy guitar part, layers of effects falling on top of one another for a flowering opening moment, quickly succeeded by a heartfelt and raw first verse.

The vocals arrive with a sense of ethereal presence, their dreaminess becoming the driving force of emotion as the music progresses into a broader arrangement, the drums steadily plodding on whilst the chords fall deeper. The topline delivery is graceful but gritty, elegance swapped out for honesty in melody and lyricism, the performance understandable and human.

”Plastic Dream is another track we wrote and recorded ourselves, Contemporary Club explain “It is a valentine-esque indie rock ballad that focuses on tearing at the hearts of two lovers, and wanting to run away with a special someone to escape the world.”

The quartet behind Contemporary Club emerge the scene fresh-faced, the band forming at college over a love for classic Britpop and shoegaze indie. Hailing from South East, the lads have set out an early signature sound of vintage nostalgia and modern flair, committing to catchy melodies and bouncing riffs.
