For the newest track in the lead-up to the new project, Dolce Blue has unveiled the smokey 'Typical Kind Of Fun'. The single is constantly evolving, moving through sweet melodies and dark harmonies, the thoughtfulness lying behind a hazy, relaxed performance. Alongside the silky duets filled with melancholic tones, guitar melodies fill the sky, floating alongside the clouds, casting shadows on the rhythms beneath them. 'Typical Kind Of Fun' is almost accusatory, speaking directly to the listener, a deeper dive into the lyrics leaving you unable to tell whether you're in for a host of romance or hurt.
“Brody came to me with some songs he had started writing, one of them was just a snippet which is the opening few lines of Typical Kind of Fun that I felt really drawn to,” Veronica adds. “I could relate to the idea of somebody having a hold on you and the disappointment and betrayal of finding out that that person is not really who you thought they were, so I expanded on it to form the rest of the song. It’s always just a song that’s stuck in my head, and I’m glad that we’ve finally recorded it and Brody’s built up the confidence to share his singing voice!”
Fresh from praise for the recent single ‘Sugar Free’, Dolce Blue continues to tease their upcoming Sweet Melancholy (Deluxe) with dreamy indie rock haziness. Emerging in 2018 from Kalamunda, WA, Dolce Blue debuted with 'New White Sneakers' and the 13-track Forever Is Too Long. Garnering attention from RTRFM 92.1 and national radio, led to a deal with Blue Grey Pink, helping the band on a path to support acts like Sly Withers and Shag Rock and complete a nationwide tour. Looking ahead to 2024, front-woman Veronica Zurzolo, bassist Daniel Taylor, guitarist Lachlan Casey, and drummer Brody Honey aim to solidify their rising status.
