Returning with her second single of the year, Australian-born Ebony Buckle is back with her emotionally charged single ‘Golden Sand’ as she strives to put her mark on 2024. Gearing up to release her second album ‘Hearts Get Started’, Buckle has turned the heads of listeners worldwide with her heart-wrenching brand of powerful vocals and charged instrumentation.
Starting from humble beginnings as a soft, piano ballad, there is a pure, melancholic elegance present within this sensational recording. As the track gracefully passes through its masterfully crafted verses, the tension in the track slowly rises until it presents a heady climax - brimming with effortless emotion, strings and pounding drums. Now London based, the track pays homage to memories of a time gone by, seeing Buckle reminisce of childhood days spent in Australia. Though the title references sunny beaches and ‘golden’ memories, it also feels like homage to the way the powerful melodies and hooks perfectly flow through the airwaves - much like sand through your fingertips.
Speaking about the release, Ebony explains, “I wrote the song after finding a photo of my brother Finn and myself playing at the beach when we were little. I get very homesick living on the other side of the world from my family. The music video is very nostalgic and was filmed where I grew up. It features my best friend Kat and her beautiful family, as well as a little cameo from my Mum.”
