Vladimir, a Russian-poet, is inspired by relationships and the issues that come with them, and one day decided to write these emotions down into poetry. This is how Edge Of The World was formed. He took part in the recording of "My Book Of Answers" with Rock legend Ken Hensley (ex-Uriah Heep), which was based on Vladimir's poems. Vladimir was soon introduced to musicians Igor and Anton then pianist Timofey. They picked 14 of his poems, translated them to English, and "Sings" was born.
The album flows well, and touches the listener on numerous levels. Out-and-out rock bangers are present, with tight rhythm sections, loud guitars and emotional vocals. Some songs, however, want to connect on a deeper level and provide a melancholy, stripped back performance that entice listeners in.
Speaking about the release, they share: "Most of the songs are Vladimir’s personal experiences, the relationship between a man and a woman, but the main song from the album called “Signs”is about something else, something maybe even mystical, hidden side of our life. Global issues are regulated by a small group of people, very rich people, we can say that our world is ruled by money, you can buy everything you want, if you have enough money: food, clothing, human resources or even man himself, and this is so sad! Those people who have gathered money and resources, act solely in their own interests, and not in the interests of society. And that's what this song is about, most people have sold themselves for nothing, they work at a job they don't like, they buy things they don't need, they eat junk food, they don't sleep well and suffer from depression, and why? because they sold themselves for nothing, but sooner or later all this will collapse overnight and people will realise that they are chasing false values.”
The album was written, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by lead-singer Anton Poluykov. All members of the band bring their own unique style, allowing for different musical identities to fuse resulting in their own unique sound. We can't wait to hear what they'll do next.
