Fresh off a premiere on Craig Charles’ BBC Radio 6Music show, London-based duo Franc Moody unveil their latest single ‘Square Pegs In Round Holes’ ahead of their highly anticipated third album 'Chewing The Fat', out this Friday 7th March. The track arrives alongside a stunning, visually arresting video directed and edited by multi-award-winning filmmaker Boris Thompson-Roylance.
Raw, vulnerable, and deeply introspective, ‘Square Pegs In Round Holes’ encapsulates the overarching themes of 'Chewing The Fat'—embracing change and growth, and navigating the unease that comes with it. The track’s delicate balance of melancholic synth tones, intricate textures, and emotive vocals showcases Franc Moody’s evolution while remaining unmistakably their own.
The accompanying video, a beautifully choreographed performance piece, pays tribute to motion and transformation. Speaking about the concept, director Boris Thompson-Roylance explains:
“This video is a celebration and study of motion. Inspired by Eadweard Muybridge’s early motion picture projection work, I wanted to contemporise his exploration through the use of the VHS feedback loop. It’s not often that you receive a brief where everything falls into place so well—a simple concept with top performers is worth its weight in gold.”
