Francesca Morris shares mellow single ‘Bad Neighbour’

Francesca Morris' new single 'Bad Neighbour', is an anthem for relationship turmoil, a breakthrough of pure confidence and self-assurance. Francesca brings together feelings of drama and of a light at the end of the tunnel, finally finding her way out of the toxicity. There's plenty of pop shine and theatre, but Francesca allows it to come alongside a raw moment of reflection.

Whilst acoustic indie-pop at its core, there are plenty of shimmering synths in the atmosphere, finding a sense of space-flying production akin to Holly Humberstone and Lizzy McAlpine, Francesca adding her own spin with a sound that evokes joy and a positive image, rather than a more mellow and forlorn approach. By the final chorus, the audience will be fully immersed, in the slew of dynamic arpeggios, pounding drums, choir vocalisation, acoustic rhythms and thoughtful piano all crafting a captivating light show-filled kaleidoscopic shapes.

Francesca comments, “I started writing this song on my piano at home for fun and to vent some frustrations, and the whole thing seemed to spill out in about twenty minutes! Once it was finished I realised there might be something in it. So I took it to co-produce with the amazing Paul Stanborough in Kent, and we had a lot of fun layering all the drums and guitars. I think the energy in the writing and production in how the song was made really comes across in the final version!”

Navigating her 20s with honest songwriting, Francesca Morris has an attitude of plain speaking and authentic lyricism, backed by dazzling folk-pop. This approach has not only built a career of flourishing solo art but also cemented Francesca as a sought-after collaborator.
