Avant-pop powerhouse, visual artist, and producer I’MMORTAL returns with a thrilling new single, ‘Uncanny Valley,’ which ventures into the eerily blurred lines between human and machine. Following the success of her debut track 'Versace Spaceship,' I’MMORTAL continues to cement her place in the genre with this glitchy, otherworldly exploration.

The song, which premiered with support from KALTBLUT Magazine and tastemaker NOTION, is an introspective dive into the technological uncanny—a sonic fusion of eerie sound effects, sharp trap beats, and autotuned vocals. The track builds with thumping bass and dizzying synths before culminating in a haunting finish, exemplifying I’MMORTAL’s skill as both a producer and a storyteller. There’s a distinct sense of unease throughout the track, as the glitchy production creates an atmosphere where the line between human emotion and digital manipulation becomes increasingly unclear.

Working on Uncanny Valley’s music video was truly such an amazing collaborative experience. The director Victoria Gong conceptualized the vision, led such a talented team, and was able pull off such a cohesive and stunning video experience. She is such a visionary, yet is so detail oriented, and knew exactly how to go about representing my artistry and my track visually. She really captured the eerie essence of “Uncanny Valley” perfectly, while keeping the integrity of a pop video. Having two identical humanoid A.I. robots undergo a Turing test, and then fight to the death in a choreographed dance-fight scene is definitely my idea of a cutting edge pop video!
I really love incorporating movement into my videos, so I was super excited when Victoria came up with the brilliant idea of having a choreographed fight scene that is also an abstract dance piece.  Dove Che, our movement director, is such a genius because he knew exactly how to execute Victoria’s vision of balancing dance and fight. I had the most amazing body double, KiKi Song, who is such a talented and versatile dancer. Together, the four of us rehearsed the movement for a couple of months, I think it really paid off in the end.”

In ‘Uncanny Valley,’ I’MMORTAL's storytelling prowess is on full display, examining themes of identity, femininity, and the tension between organic and artificial life. The track’s concept resonates with the growing digital age, reflecting a disorienting dance between technology and humanity. I’MMORTAL’s influences—ranging from the dark, ethereal sounds of Sevdaliza to the experimental pop of SOPHIE—are evident in her innovative approach to production, as she carves a distinct space within the avant-pop genre.

The accompanying music video, directed by Victoria Gong, amplifies the track’s themes with haunting visuals. I’MMORTAL, dressed in pearlescent white, faces off with a robotic clone of herself in a high-stakes game of existential confrontation. As she navigates through the video’s surreal scenes—playing with a dollhouse, being monitored by nurses, and taking a Turing test—the visuals are as disorienting as the music itself. The video culminates in an intense, dramatic dance-off between the two I’MMORTALs, leaving the viewer to question which version of her survives, and whether it even matters.

With over a quarter of a million Spotify streams and acclaim from publications like CLASH Magazine and EARMILK, I’MMORTAL’s growing fanbase is proof that her blend of experimental pop and cutting-edge visuals is making waves. ‘Uncanny Valley’ is a bold statement in her musical journey, offering a unique perspective on selfhood, technology, and the future. For fans of avant-garde pop and glitchy electronica, I’MMORTAL has firmly planted herself as an artist to watch.
