Ines Rae’s latest single ‘Someone Else’s Heart’ has recently seen a stir on social media and within the wider industry thanks to its no-holds-barred vulnerability. The track is filled with introspective lyricism that tugs on your heartstrings as she recounts the events surrounding her father’s heart transplant. This heartwarming story, alongside the glowing pop sensibilities, helped the artist to see attention from Radio 1 and Khloe Kardashian, as well as an ambassadorship for NHS England. It’s a raw and atmospheric track, with driving, gritty guitars and pounding drums providing the backdrop to Ines’ soft and delicate vocal performance.
Ines shares more of her story, ”It’s really special to me because this song is about one of the people I love most in the world - and how it felt to watch him go through something so monumental and almost unfathomable to most people. It’s also a summary of my own feelings at a very challenging time in my life - and while sometimes I think it’s a moment I’d rather not dwell on too much - as time heals sometimes the memory of it start to fade - having the song means I’ll always have my own musical time capsule I guess.”
Aside from her recent success, the 21-year-old has seen attention from a range of music publications and Spotify editorials. Her track ‘Never Get It Right’, was featured on the official soundtrack Golden Globe and Emmy Award-nominated Netflix series Emily In Paris, a huge milestone for Ines. Working with the likes of Bastille and Fickle Friends, as well as time spent with prolific industry songwriters, Ines is firmly on the road to success, solidifying her rising star status.
