It's safe to say that rising star Isaiah Brown has had quite a journey so far. The singer-songwriter dropped his debut album 'DREAMERBOY' last year, featuring successful singles such as 'ME & U', 'See The Sun' and 'Please Be The One', which embody a modernised pop feel with a commercial underbelly that makes his music so easy to sink your teeth into.
Continuing momentum for the record, he's just released the video for 'Please Be The One' which has already gone viral, with Isaiah's feel-good and soulful energy transcending to many across the globe. We sat down with him to learn what makes him tick musically, why this song is special to him and much more, exclusively for FLEX.

Hey Isaiah, welcome to FLEX! How's it going?
Amazing! Just been busy as ever - a lot of projects and things to catch up on. Life is beautiful though, my girl & I are thriving in our new place. We’re super excited to launch the new content/studio space for the public as well as the songwriting workshop, and all the new music/shows on the way!
Tell us who your biggest influences are?
I’m heavily influenced by the classic artists that shaped the music industry in their own way. My earliest inspirations were Michael Jackson, Prince, Elton John, Van Halen, Fleetwood Mac, and much more. Now, I’m influenced by the artists I work with and the incredibly talented people around me. I’ve worked so long to pave my own way in the music industry that my biggest influence has to now be the experiences that life puts me through.
Why do you make music?
Honestly I don’t know what else I would do haha! Since I was a little boy I had this gut feeling that pulled me down the path of music/artistic expression. Music helps me go through whatever emotion or experience I encounter in life, and to better understand them. If you pay attention to the lyrics, you’ll find that a lot of my music is simply about what I’ve discovered or felt through living my life. Nothing in my music is fake, and it’s really all just painting pictures of the lessons I’ve learned and emotions I’ve felt over the years.
Your new single 'Please Be The One' is so infectious! What does this song mean to you?
I’ve always been someone with a big heart, and a lot of times to my own detriment. Living in LA made it rather difficult to open up in an authentic way if you know what I mean. I found myself giving way too much to people that didn’t deserve it, and took for granted the love I had to offer. Please Be The One is about the longing we all feel to find the person that allows you to fully open up. Doesn’t every person deep down belong to one another in love?
Tell us about the music video for it, where did the inspiration come from?
Our goal was to capture the essence of the song in the simplest way possible. Having Madi (the dancer in the video) and I go back and forth with one another on an open palette like the beach/ocean conveys the message perfectly. Love is a constant dance of back & forth, and my inspiration was to bring that analogy to life.
What's next for Isaiah Brown in 2023?
I have almost an entire new album recorded, so that’s pretty exciting. I want to keep adding music videos onto DREAMERBOY, and we’re really hoping to launch a big tour this year! I’m planning to ideally release singles off the new project while I’m jumping from city to city, but we’ll see what life has in store for us. As of right now, I’m just enjoying the ride. Keeping my eye out for label opportunities too, given that it’s the right fit for my brand and our team!
