Brighton's heavy-rock risers Jar Of Blind Flies, are back with an explosive new single 'Not Your Baby', some of the bands heaviest work to date. Recorded at the prestigious Marshall studio under the expert guidance of Adam Beer and Ollie Brightman, known for their acclaimed work with the likes of Nova Twins, Kid Bookie, and King Nun, the single showcases a stride forward for the band to match their growing presence as a live band on the Brighton scene.
Teaming up with the renowned Tidalwave Recordings for mixing and mastering, the track is a sonic assault that showcases Jar Of Blind Flies at their most intense and high-octane. Drawing inspiration from their diverse musical influences including Pixies, Deftones, and Jeff Buckley, the band seamlessly blends garage rock grit with heavy grunge elements, resulting in a darkly expressive soundscape that demands attention.
Fronted by the dynamic duo of Maddy and Marley, whose urgent vocals and dappled screamo inject a palpable sense of urgency and bitterness into the track, 'Not Your Baby' is a visceral experience from start to finish. Maddy's poignant lyricism delves into the complexities of modern relationships, exploring themes of superficial affection and consumerist notions of love.
Bassist Jake reflects on the recording process: “Recording at The Marshall studio was a whole new level for us. Going from the relatively DIY recording style of our early songs to recording in a 250-capacity amphitheatre with every bit of tech you could ever imagine was a Real culture shock. The way the recordings have come out is levels above what we could’ve hoped for and we’ve learnt so much from the experience”
