Jerry Jean's new single 'Lean In' is a fabulous showcase of his incredible arrangement abilities, there's so many elements flourishing in their own right, but when they come together the intricacies produce an out-of-body, soulful, experience of pure joy.
Every vocalist, from Grammy-winning Nicole Zuraitis, to the backing vocal of Tehillah Alphonso and Jerry himself all soar into the sky with no intention of coming back down. All the while, the screaming saxophone notes, the clattering drums, the grooving guitars and the emotive strings all support an orchestra of soulful passion. Pure contentment.
Jerry explains the track, ”I wrote Lean In as a reminder to be fully present in whichever stage of life you're in. To inhabit the now and not dwell on the past or the future. Life’s incredibly dynamic when you’re committed to the now, and I tried to capture this vibrancy with Lean In.”
An NYC-based talent, Jerry Jean has appeared at a host of iconic venues, performing alongside the likes of Florence + The Machine and Boyz II Men. His debut LP, Do We Reach Home, was intricate in its themes, revolving around a search for a home in a chaotic world, embracing the cinema of his arrangements to span from haunting to heartfelt. The album was acclaimed at The Hollywood Music in Media Awards and the Global Music Awards.
