'On The Road' is the debut album from Tel-Aviv's LDRDO, an artist seemingly able to capture the entire spectrum of music within his arrangements, with no distinct genre but an endless familiarity within his experiments. The sleek grooves, gorgeous tones and natural vocal performances ooze truth and authenticity, the autobiographical nature of the track leaning into feelings of progression and growth as we traverse the eleven tracks.
Each choice in the production is made with distinctive intention, making the elements that might feel strange feel totally natural, the vocoding on 'NO FEAR', the chains on 'Lost' or the subtle distortion of 'HELP!', it all feeds into the wider narrative. A concept, a composition, a success, don't miss out.
LDRDO adds “‘On the Road’ is a concept album based on my semi-autobiographical journey after a crisis and my decision to refocus my life. Taking the same title from Jack Kerouac's legendary book, this piece is heavily influenced by American road stories alongside my home culture in the Middle East.”
Garnering attention from his home town and across the world, set for an album-centred gig in Berlin later this summer, LDRDO captures the power to make a difference through music, evoking rich emotions and transcendent feelings throughout his compositions. Showcasing what he calls, a soulful blend of funky grooves, Turkish psychedelic sounds and Greek tones, LDRDO brings the cultural influences of his roots alongside contemporary sensibilities for a glowing organic tapestry of sound.
