Madanes latest single is the bouncy deep dive into the rose-tinted glasses love can place on you, totally out of your control. The artist dives into this by confessing his love for Laura Ingraham, with the aptly titled, ‘In love with Laura Ingraham [what's wrong with me]’, sparkling in his instrumentation and delivering his lyricism with a reflective, wistful but whimsical tone. The distorted guitar licks supercharge a gentle whistle and high-pitched vocal harmonies, morphing the track from a softly meandering folk outpour into an utterly unique, classic-rock categorised anthem. The final moments are an uplifting chaos, with each element getting a place in the spotlight before the cheery whistle sees listeners out.
”Love has no rules and logic... that is the tragic magic,” Madanes explains, “We can't decide with whom to fall in love. Love allows us to erase prejudices and see the person and not just his opinions.”
Madanes, with a musical style reminiscent of some generational storytelling talents, first got into music at age twelve, when a record purchase quickly turned into a collector's habit. Soon came nineteen years of performing as a passionate DJ, including three years of DJing as a part of the military. His musical education came primarily from listening to 50-100 new songs weekly, long before the internet era allows for such a feat to be easy. With his unapologetic lyrics first unveiled on four Hebrew albums, Madanes now expresses his feelings of a lost soul in English.
