Rising indie-pop sensation Maddie Regent is kicking off 2025 with the announcement of her highly-anticipated debut album 'On the phone with my mom', set for release on the 16th May. Offering a preview of this deeply personal and sonically vibrant project, Regent has unveiled the mesmerising new single 'The wolf', which showcases her signature blend of heartfelt storytelling and electrifying pop energy.
Co-written and produced with her boyfriend and creative partner Cade Hoppe, and featuring additional production from Harper James of Eighty Ninety, 'The wolf' is a euphoric track, driven by an irresistible beat and raw emotional depth.
Regent describes the song as an exploration of the anxiety and fear that arise when facing someone you once loved but now feel estranged from. “There’s a part of you that’s paralysingly afraid of them,” she explains, “but you wish you didn’t have to be.” With its magnetic intensity and bittersweet tension, 'The wolf' perfectly encapsulates the struggle of moving on while being haunted by echoes of the past.
