Returning with gleaming nostalgia in his new single ‘Every Goodbye’, MC Nelson is back once again teasing his debut album ‘Dark City’. With a broad sample that brings a new soulful sound to his traditionally grime-charged performance, Nelson brings an optimistic and thankful track that speaks to his family with smooth flows. Energised and confident, the artist punches through the track and provides audiences with a refreshing new track to light the speakers with.
MC Nelson shares an insight into the track, "Despite the amazing reaction I had to Dark City, hundreds of thousands of streams somehow some rappers I grew up on reached out to me. I had some very notable detractors, first and foremost my mum and aunties who did not like the content and aggression of the song. I wrote Every Goodbye for them so the song has a lot of references to my family in it."
Debuting with an underground buzz around his ‘Anglosfear’ mixtape, which also saw radio play and esteemed publication coverage, MC Nelson has spent his time since building an audience around his home town of Liverpool. After undertaking his first UK tour with Punch Records, Nelson also went on to perform across Europe, sharing the stage with rap royalty such as Ghostface Killah, KRS ONE, Slum Village, The Pharcyde, De La Soul, Open Mike Eagle and R.A.P. Ferreira. One-third of the rap collective Black Borough, Nelson has also seen success with the group’s debut self-titled EP.
