Michael Blackwell has unleashed his debut EP ‘A Trip Around The Sun’. Featuring his eclectic and lauded run of singles in the lead-up to the project as well as new track ‘Cold Water’, Michael continues to captivate with his poignant signature fusion of '90s grunge, '00s indie, and modern alt-pop. Utilising classic instrumentation and lacing it with distinctly modern production sensibilities, Michael creates a momentousness in his music that allows him to control the emotions he injects into the listener, joy, melancholy, and confidence, across the EP.
The artist adds, “‘Cold Water’ was written about learning how to deal with trauma. Washing away the pain and negative feelings and moving on with the next phase of your life.”
Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Blackwell, has spent the last few years working alongside the likes of Louis Tomlinson, Amber Run and Lewis Capaldi. Now, Michael sets his sights on a solo career, with the County-Durham artist regularly releasing songs that further his presence in the industry.
