When New York singer-songwriter Miles East released his breakthrough debut album 'Ghosts of Hope' in 2016, he was greeted as one of the more immersive names to emerge that year. With a wondrous approach to his songwriting, doubled against his heartfelt vocal performance, he now ends his seven-year break from the limelight to deliver his stunning comeback single 'Better Than Here'.
Much like what that original LP taught us about his direction, his newest outing is a rich and alluring slice of soul-infused indie-rock, brimming with heartfelt emotion throughout. Set to appear on his next full-length 'Between Lightning and Thunder', 'Better Than Here' not only picks up exactly where he last left off, but also offers up something fresh to really get your teeth into.
Adding about the new release, he said, “It’s an ode to the boldness of buoyancy and hope, and to the promises we make to those we love when weathering dark forces.”
Although seven years is certainly a long time to try and reintroduce yourself back into the fold, Miles East has such an alluring presence, it feels like he has hardly been gone at all. With its tender approach and shimmering textures from start to finish, 'Better Than Here' already feels like the start of something very special from the frontman.
