French duo Monte Crystal kicks off 2025 with ‘Manhattan’, the first single from their upcoming EP Côté Cour (out May 2). This track blends jazz-infused pop with poetic melancholy, capturing the restless yearning for escape.

In this dreamlike Manhattan, the skyline feels eerily familiar—is New York turning into Paris, or vice versa? Monte Crystal crafts a weightless groove, shifting between soaring elegance and pulsing urgency. French lyrics rise among skyscrapers, an urban poetry piercing through the fog, leaving us suspended in a fleeting moment.

With trumpet, flute, and congas, ‘Manhattan’ is a rich musical journey. Its shifting textures mirror the push and pull of love and longing—an intoxicating mirage of a place, a person, a feeling just out of reach.

The accompanying music video turns the song’s themes into a visual maze. Directed by Eliott Fettweis, it follows solitary souls drifting through a city that could be either Paris or NYC, missing each other by mere seconds. It’s a haunting metaphor for the pursuit of something—**or someone—that may never be caught.
