MYRY’s new release ‘The Weakest Seams’, opens with a haunting atmosphere, delicate piano chords chased down by heavy bass tones and the ebb and flow of dynamic percussion. As MYRY’s ethereal vocals enter the soundscape, the track takes the opportunity to build around her celestial melodies, becoming more powerful in both the drums and the synth design. The track then falls away, leaving deep frequencies to support the melodies, before quickly growing into a dark and hazy climax.
The artist explains, ”This is a song about the fragile yet powerful emotions awakened into each other during toxic relationships ('it wasn't right') and how they can be blinding. It is a song about accepting that things can be beautiful and yet have an expiration date; when there are 'weak seams' in the fabric, it eventually tears.”
Working as a part-time doctor alongside her music, MYRY hybridised melancholic electronica pulls from a vast songwriting palette. Growing up between Belgium, Italy and the UK gave the artist a unique timbre, which, when paired with her sleek production, is able to create a distinctive ethereality across her music. Receiving acclaim from music blogs and BBC Introducing, the London songwriter continues to excite.
