December is upon us once more, and usually this is the time for mulled wine and those oh so familiar Christmas classics that we all know and love. Not for Nicki Wells though, who taken it upon herself to write and release her own winter storyline upon the world, and she does so in such a delicately vulnerable and simply stunning manner with 'A Little Christmas Of My Own'.

A rich and warm piano fills the air immediately, with Wells' soft and ever present vocals accompanying. A song with a real bittersweet notion behind it, how everyone spends their Christmas not with their family but on their own, Nicki beautifully captures this energy and her clever lyricism paired with the seasonal chords make for a very special and enriching track. Wells' backing vocals also bring a real choir like atmosphere to proceedings, adding to the sparkle that makes this particular Christmas song shine through amongst the rest.
