When the Norwegian duo My Friend The Sun, consisting of musicians Ole Tom Torjussen and Eivind S. Johansen, released their debut EP 'My Friend The Sun EP1' earlier this year, they were greeted as one of the more alluring names arriving on the scene. And with the buzz surrounding them continuing to build, they recently dropped their newest collection 'EP 2 In This World', featuring the sweeping new single 'Love Comes From Everywhere (Sacred Songs)'.
Much like what their catalogue has delivered already, this new offering is a beautifully serene and mesmerising affair. Capturing a wonderfully rich and immersive atmosphere that plays perfectly with their dreamlike vocals throughout, 'Love Comes From Everywhere (Sacred Songs)' is another shining example of why so many have been turning on to them recently.
Speaking about the new track, they said, "A friend had been to India where he had a chance meeting with an old Catholic priest. The priest had a sign in front of his house with the message «Love comes from everywhere» This song is about that particular grace of sitting in a garden after the rain, not doing any thing, other than being open towards it all."
While they have certainly looked to make a strong impact so far this year, turning out two EPs within the space of a few months, My Friend The Sun are still managing to stay on top of their creative game through it all. Brimming with bright and tender textures as often as possible, they are definitely a name we need to get more familiar with in the months ahead.
