Oh Buddy! debut with indie pop sparkle of ‘Wrong Thing’

Previously performing at the likes of Electric Forest, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo as part of seven-piece outfit Waker, Chase Bader and Conor Kelly have arrived with a fresh new direction under the moniker of Oh Buddy!. Immediately catching attention with their debut single, the band are also becoming a sought-after name in the sync world, contributing to Grand Wagoneer and Amazon, alongside collaborating with sync agency Ghostwriter.

Oh Buddy!’s debut single is out now, the energetic track ‘Wrong Thing’ being the first insight into their forthcoming debut EP. With glamour flowing from every note, the group’s indie pop sound is every bit as familiar as it is unique, with just the right amount of pop sparkle weaved into their dynamic glow. The duo feel like they’ve got a huge band behind them, you can find a new melody glow with each new listen, and each instrument has an interesting story of its own to tell. When you put it all together, then you achieve the huge joy of Oh Buddy!.

Chase and Conor share, “Where All Your Ends Just Meet” feels like the closing of one door and the opening of another. During the writing and recording of these songs there was so much change in both my life and Conor’s that was good and bad but led to so much positive change. This EP feels like the first step into a new world for us where there are no ceilings and we get to creatively express our vision for the first time with true freedom. Oh Buddy! is an exciting chapter in our lives that we can’t wait to see who it connects with.”

“Where All Your Ends Just Meet”, is a collection of songs that truly capture Chase and I during some of our most vulnerable moments. From the beginnings of Covid and all the way through the end of last year, we have endured some of life’s highest highs and lowest lows, together. These songs are very special to me in that way, because when I hear them, I can instantly go back to that moment in time and remember just how hard and wonderful life can be. In a lot of ways, listening to these songs feels like watching a movie of the last few years of my life.”
