Redtones Ignite with 'Whole Lotta Nothin': A Rock Anthem for Justice

Michigan rock band Redtones return with their latest single, “Whole Lotta Nothin’,” a powerful precursor to their upcoming album, The Calm Before the Storm. Following the recent success of singles “Maybe He Was Right” and “American Dream,” “Whole Lotta Nothin’” is a dynamic track that showcases the band’s signature blend of distinctive guitars, unforgettable rhythms, and Doug Borton's commanding vocals.

The creation of “Whole Lotta Nothin’” stemmed from over a year of intense writing and collaboration in their home studio in Battle Creek, Michigan. This single speaks to themes of accountability and justice, resonating deeply with listeners. On the single, the band explains, “The song provides a very reactionary tone to people who generally tend to take from others without giving back. This song thus lashes out from the perspective of people of all walks of life who get taken advantage of by others. It provides a feeling of hitting back at those individuals.”

Redtones are an all-American band forged from principles of freedom and independent thought, navigating through today’s complex world. Their music seeks to introduce thought-provoking ideas and explore abstract cultures. The band states, “We never seek to instruct or direct ideas. Rather, we hope to promote free thinking and debate towards numerous topics related to our current day society and welcome communication towards a common ground.”

“Whole Lotta Nothin’” is a rallying cry for those who have felt exploited or taken for granted. It’s an anthem of empowerment, encouraging listeners to stand up against injustice and reclaim their agency. Through their music, Redtones provide a voice to the voiceless, channelling their frustrations and hopes into a powerful rock narrative.
