Swansea’s Eleri Angharad tells the struggle of everything you want to say but you can’t in her touching new track ‘Delete It’.
Brimming with extraordinary talent, the young singer-songwriter creates a soaring electronic soundscape with the song, with rich piano melodies, shimmering vocals and pulsating synths creating a wonderfully unusual beat. Switching between soft and striking, the emotion of the narrative is perfectly translated through her words, and her blend of country and pop influences makes for a compelling listen.
“'Delete It' is one of my most personal tracks to date”, Eleri confesses, “It describes a moment where I wanted to express my emotions but not damage a friendship. It's about weighing up the pros and cons of sending I Love You; will I hear back the same message and feel incredible or not get the answer I want and deal with rejection and potential loss? The song represents a pivotal point in my personal life.”
After an inspiring trip to America as a teenager, where she performed in New York, Chicago and Nashville, Eleri fell in love with the storytelling that country music can evoke, adopting this way of song writing within her own personal process. Counting her idols as Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves and James Taylor, she has gone on to receive impressive radio airplay from the likes of BBC 6 Music, Country Hits Radio and BBC Radio Wales Introducing. Her previous releases such as ‘Blank Walls’ has amassed nearly 200,000 streams on Spotify alone, and she looks set to take over the world with her unique brand of country-pop.
An infectious offering from the Welsh artist, expect to hear ‘Delete It’ everywhere this Springtime.
