Hailing from Bromsgrove, a small town just outside of Birmingham, Runrummer unveils her long-awaited debut album Elevator. Since garnering the attention of the likes of CLASH, BBC Introducing and Rolling Stone, the album is set to cement Runrummer as a fast-rising star in the indie-pop field.
Elevator stands its ground as a euphoric debut album. Starting with the silky piano grooves of ‘Float’ all the way through to the alternative version of ‘All I Wanted Was To Be Romantic’, the eleven-track offering pushes sonic boundaries. Leaning into eighties nostalgia, seventies disco and contemporary deep grooves, it's evident that Runrummer knows how to craft infectious pop anthems.
The album also features ‘Honey Friend’, the latest single to be taken from the debut album. Twinning a bold backbeat with a vintage pop sentiment, the single couples Chic-esque guitar lines with a fun-filled ecstasy to carve a mesmerizing earworm.
Speaking about ‘Honey Friend’, Runrummer explains, “Honey Friend is a love letter to secret attraction. When you start to feel your emotions develop for a close friend but you’re not sure if they feel the same way. You really want to act on your desires but you don’t want to ruin the relationship at the same time.”
