saachisen’s latest release is the captivating pop blend of ‘If You Knew What I Was Thinking’. Taking her sparkling contemporary writing and integrating flowing string arrangements give the track a unique atmosphere, feeling lighthearted in the brighter moments but also momentous as the choruses rise. Soaring from bar to bar like an angel, saachisen’s vocal tones play perfectly into this soundscape, shimmering through the climaxes and falling to vulnerability when a softer emotion calls.
“In ‘If You Knew What I Was Thinking’ I wanted to capture the euphoria of falling for someone, but also the frustration of knowing you shouldn’t tell them,” saachisen explains. “The melody, lyrics and arrangement were all crafted to reflect that battle between head and heart - particularly in the shift between the verses and choruses. This track is unusual for me because I actually wrote the strings parts first and built everything else up around them, as I loved the warm, joyful sound they brought to the song. I’m really excited to share this and launch it at my first ever overseas show at the Indian Embassy in Berlin on the week of release!”
In the past year alone, saachisen has been nominated as a finalist in the Eastern Eye Arts Culture and Theatre awards, sold out her headline show at the Star of Kings venue and made her first overseas headline appearance in Berlin. Enchanting audiences wherever she goes, tastemakers from BBC Introducing to esteemed music publications are also taking note. An exciting rising star talent.
