SABS Returns with Latest Noir-Pop Single “justlikethat”

Admin

South Indian Tamil artist, SABS continues her ascent with the release of her latest single “justlikethat”. Following closely after her earlier release “demons”, SABS continues to move from strength to strength. Her unique style of noir-pop seamlessly fuses together themes of indie and alternative music with emotive and raw lyrics, inviting listeners to experience life through her eyes.

“justlikethat” sees SABS expose the realities of a toxic relationship on the backdrop of satisfying-spoken melodies infused with reverb. Not one to shy away from blending genres, SABS creates a unique sonic landscape that leans into a lo-fi tone and features elements of alternative rock. Although the genres typically do not mix, the combination creates an inkling of apprehension;  reflecting the complexity of the relationship that inspired the track.

Speaking about the single, SABS shares “I wrote ‘justlikethat’ while reflecting on a toxic relationship I got pulled into. I spent so much energy trying to make this person happy, even when it hurt me—emotionally and physically. Writing this song was my way of reminding myself that I don’t owe anyone my peace and that I have the right to put myself first. The production mirrors that journey—the verses feel raw and vulnerable, but when the chorus hits, there’s this confident, almost defiant energy with an edgy groove. I hope ‘justlikethat’ reminds you to protect your energy and empowers you to stand your ground—because we owe it to ourselves to choose ourselves, as often as we can.”
