San Francisco's Sally Mango have released their latest single 'Love Inventory', arriving alongside their third full-length album, Homemade.

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, the six-piece ensemble shine in their fusions of indie, soul, R&B and pop sounds. Definitively groovy, Sally Mango bring fresh and funky vibes to every release - and their new single is no exception.

‘Love Inventory’ shines in its vulnerability and self-reflectiveness, as lead singer, Zia GV, playfully ruminates on possibility, crooning “I could fall in love with you” in the hook. Sonically, the single brings together the very best of the ensemble, creating a soundscape of funk-infused melodies and swooping vocals. On the single, the band states, “the song is about meeting someone and feeling the spark, but being burned before you have a ‘love inventory’, where you check the signs and maps to make sure you’re still on the right track.”

The band credit their primary songwriter, Rohan Sahai, for first bringing the main groove to the track. It all fell into place from there. They share, “The sweet horns from Charlie Buffa and Julie Chanin seamlessly blended in, and the rhythm section from Mikey Scheufele brings the R&B vibes, and Zia brought it all home with some beautiful vocals. We also feature Nick Turley, and an incredible Bay Area piano player for some additional keys that really added some amazing embellishments.”

Homemade, Sally Mango’s third full-length album, encapsulates their journey as a band so far. Inspired by the golden fields and beaches of California, the band wrote most of the album in West Marin. As the name suggests, the band independently recorded, mixed and mastered the entire project themselves. A true labour of love, the record's playful melodies arrive with reflective lyricism and flawless musicianship. They shared on the album, Homemade is us holding the music fully in our control and leveling up our abilities to complete a song from start to finish on our own.”

Celebrating a full six years of groovy music-making, the band’s chemistry runs deep – from childhood friends, college friends, and roommates, the band came together through a series of serendipitous events; and their music holds snippets of their most special experiences. Homemade, most recently, nods to the first baby mango of the band, keyboardist Rohan’s son.
