Samuel Evanson is back, releasing the final single in the lead-up to his debut album We Are Meant To Break The Rules, with the fabulous new anthem ‘Jade Green’. Writing with glittering indie-pop prowess, Samuel shares a unique tone across his guitar arrangements, feeling whimsical but firm, twinkling melodies above the natural lead vocals. The vocals across the track are pensive, Samuel allowing his heart to take the lead for a connecting and warm performance that seeps through the frequencies for an enchanting listening experience. With his talent on show once again, this track is another spike in anticipation for the upcoming project.
Samuel explains the moving story behind the single, ”I wrote the record Jade Green earlier in the year to help me process the loss of one of my closest friends who was murdered by her ex partner at just 27. I was struggling to face the loss and hid myself away for a while but the track has helped me get closure on this tragic event. I later decided to release this track as the final single before my debut album 'We Are Meant To Break The Rules' is released in June. I want her name to be heard worldwide because she was such an incredible person and it may also help other people in similar situations. The UK Government has also introduced a law to protect the children of parents murdered by their partner as previously they still had a say in their children's lives, this has been called 'Jades Law' and I wanted to show my support for this also.”
Lauded by the industry across publications and streaming editorials, Samuel’s recent rise to attention has come after years of music-making passion. Taking bold aspirations from a young age, his first emergence came with a viral Facebook video, helping him to secure spots on BBC One and winning several local awards. Moving to Liverpool in 2019, it took time for Samuel to rekindle his musical vision, but he is now back, achieving widespread acclaim once again.
