SATCH releases the breezy ‘Present In The Post’

An artist who’s filled with jazz-pop breeziness, SATCH is the moniker of Joshua Satchell, an artist gaining attention for his performances at Glastonbury, Reeperbahn, ‘The Great Escape', London Pride, Brighton Pride, Queer Spirit Festival and Milton Keynes Pride. Born as a boy within a girl’s body, Joshua struggled in high-school amidst the dysphoria he was feeling, which led him to finding songwriting to let his emotions out.

SATCH’s latest offering is album ‘Present In The Post’. After a lead up that saw the teaser singles gain plenty of attention, the artist has releases a project from of thought-provoking lyricism and infectious instrumentation. Influences from jazz, EDM and lo-fi are all present to form the hazy final product. Themes include addiction, depression, dysphoria, family, pride and religion, all topics that are very close to SATCH’s heart so each vocal delivery comes across with connection and passion.

SATCH speaks on the album, “The message from this album is one of empowerment. I went from being 'present in' and dreaming of my post-transition future, to making that post-transition future my present reality. And the catalyst for that was the decision to be myself.

The album was recorded at three different London studios in Tileyard, Queens Park and West Hampstead with producer Itamar Lapidot. We'd been introduced through a mutual co-writer in Nashville, who asked me to 'be his friend' when he moved to London! I'm glad I did - the arrangement and production on these albums came from three friends (with longtime collaborator Will Nash in tow) taking great care over these stories being reflected as authentically as possible in the music.”
