Tiyto release the electrifying grit of ‘Patience’

Tiyto is a trio based in Buckinghamshire, comprised of vocalist and keyboard player Stuart Waters, Robert Water on drums and Max McKinstry-Hart on guitars and bass.

Back with a new single in ‘Patience’, Tiyto have intricately crafted a colourful kaleidoscope of delay effects, rhythms and hazy tones. Matching arpeggios with spacey synths with steady rhythms and balanced vocals in the verses, the track takes an alternative turn as we reach the chorus, the rhythms getting choppier, grittier and the emotions of the song driven from vulnerability to power.

Tiyto often define themselves as blending atmospheric rock with electronic and R&B. On ‘Patience’, they allow themselves to lean into their rock tendencies, allowing the electronica moments to drive a wider narrative of fuzzy charging and masterful production. Their raw talent on show, Tiyto is at its very best.

The band add, “The guitars on Patience were a lot of fun to work on. As the track is mainly built around the bass line,  we wanted the guitars to complement it, rather than take the lead. The main verse guitar part was written to weave between the notes of the bass. It was actually influenced by some of the guitar parts on In Rainbows which he was listening to a lot around that time.

For the chorus we switch it up and the guitar takes over from the bass as the lead instrument. We had a lot of fun in the studio layering up fuzzes to get that dirty tone. Gave him a chance to use a lot of neglected pedals he doesn't get to use in Tiyto often haha. We love this track and we are so happy to be sharing it with everyone.”
