VELVET MOON Delivers Nostalgic 80s Vibes with "A Love Song"

Indie pop band VELVET MOON brings heartfelt nostalgia to their latest single, "A Love Song," released on October 11, 2024, via Argle Bargle Studios. Following the buzz around their earlier singles "Hymn" and "Daylight," this track solidifies the Stockholm trio's place in the indie pop landscape. VELVET MOON, who have garnered 15 million streams and seen their music in TV commercials for major brands like Kappahl and Bollinger, are building anticipation for their forthcoming 2025 album with a sound that's both timeless and poignant.

"A Love Song" captures the unmistakable energy of 80s dance music, merging danceability with emotional depth. The track’s shimmering synths, pulsing beats, and electric guitar lines create a dreamy, retro soundscape, drawing clear inspiration from 80s giants like Fleetwood Mac and The Eurythmics. Sandra Bjurman’s vocals, filled with warmth and grace, cut through the instrumental richness, evoking the bittersweetness of love and loss. There’s a subtle yet profound melancholy woven into her delivery, reminiscent of iconic tracks like “Hungry Eyes,” but with a modern feminine twist that adds new layers of resonance.

With production handled by Stefan Örn and Johan Glössner and mixing by Johan Kronlund (known for working with artists like Allan Walker and Veronica Maggio), "A Love Song" is as meticulously crafted as it is emotionally stirring. It’s a beautiful testament to VELVET MOON’s ability to balance personal storytelling with expansive, genre-bending soundscapes, making this single an exciting preview of what’s to come in their 2025 album.
