After collaborating with music giants like Peter Gabriel, Squid, and Saya Gray, Dom Shaw steps forward with his creative project Waterlog, delivering a powerful, genre-bending debut in 2025. Leading the charge is "Touchscreen," the title track from his forthcoming EP. The song fuses alternative, folk, and rock into a raucous indie pop-rock anthem that channels early 2000s nostalgia, with a fresh twist only Shaw could create.

“Touchscreen” serves as a humorous yet biting commentary on modern life, dominated by smartphones and social media. Shaw delivers a satirical, tongue-in-cheek duet between a relentlessly optimistic phone and its disillusioned user. The track’s gritty energy is driven by thrashing drums from Cam Steele and a gnarly bassline that infuses the song with constant twists and momentum. Shaw’s charismatic vocals command attention, mixing humour, grit, and an unexpected nod to The Shining’s Danny Torrance in the main hook.

Laced with clever commentary, "Touchscreen" is a cathartic, unapologetic release that captures Shaw’s knack for blending sonic chaos with polished indie-pop production. It’s a track that effortlessly combines raw indie rock with playful satire, showcasing Shaw's multifaceted creative vision and genre-fluid artistry. With "Touchscreen," Waterlog emerges as a project brimming with wit, creativity, and the energy to lead listeners into 2025.
